Vatsalya Annual Report 2013-14

We enter the 14th year of our inception in 2014. It has been a long, trying and yet very satisfying journey. Working with children; whether orphaned, abandoned or those coming from a very impoverished situations makes it a great, meaningful mission for us. We began with our focus on children but soon our approach became family focused when we learnt that it was a weak mother or a weak father that led to children left to fend for themselves and living in difficult circumstances such as working as rag pickers, Tea shop and Shoe Shine boys, small girls being pushed in to prostitution or forced in to early marriages and so on. A vicious cycle of poverty and ignorance would continue unless we take a comprehensive approach to break it. Our efforts in past one and a half decade have been directed towards eliminating such situations and bring a desirable change, little by little. Our efforts have been strong and steady and our journey well focused. Click here for more details…
